The debut album by Virgil Kane has been released.
A blend of Americana, Alt Country and Folk, the Kanes hit the ground running with their first album!
“Kinsale talent Virgil Kane have released their long awaited debut album. The band describe their style of music as americana and country. Their original songs are reminiscent of such bands as CSNY and the Band.
Virgil Kane have been rocking County Cork as cover band Crazy Chester for some time now, as all you Johnny Cash, Neil Young and Bob Dylan fans will already be well aware.
The album was produced by Canadian rock master, Jeff Martin (formerly of the Tea Party) in the idyllic setting of his west Cork recording studio. The recording took place in stages between Jeff’s international tours over the last six months.
Virigil Kane’s eponymous album is available to buy from Muddy Mahers in Kinsale and at Virgil Kane gigs, online from the Kingdom Records website and will also be available to download from itunes.
The members of Virgil Kane perform in and around Kinsale under various names: as two-piece, Grimley Greenwich, at the Bulman on Thursdays and as three-piece, Sonny & Friends, at the Blue Haven on Tuesdays.
Virgil Kane are: Darren Grimley(vocals, guitar) Alan Murray (guitar)David Jones (drums), Mick Creedon (bass), and Sonny Greenwich Jnr (mandolin).”
